My 100% Realistic, Haven't Been Drinking, Lineup Projection for this Year

FORWARDS Roussel - Beagle - Archibald -Having just won a Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals, having Jay Beagle as your first line centre to provide incredible leadership is a no-brainer. Also, management obvioulsy wasn't giving Roussel a 4 year term unless they saw first-line potential. Plus, the grit and speed that Roussel and Archibald bring only complements Beagle's leadership. Opposing team's first lines will not want to go mano-a-mano with this line. Schaller - Sutter - Sam (Gagner) -Known as the "Triple-S" line, Sutter's uncanny ability to win the face-offs will allow this line to start every shift with possession, and never relinquish it until it's in the back of the net. Motte - Gaunce - Virtanen -The youthful exuberance of this line will simply out-hustle the other team, and thus, score many goals. Possibly as much as 20, scored by Virtanen. Baertschi - Horvat - Boeser -Just not sold on any of these guys yet. Still unproven in my opinion, and need more seasoning in the minors but bizarre contracts by the GM (Linden, who are we kidding) handcuffs the ability to send them down. Pettersson without question needs a year at least in the Allsvenskan. Last year he was propped up by extremely strong line-mates.

DEFENCE Biega - Gudbranson -You're going to want both of these workhorses hammering the opposing teams forwards as much as possible. The Canucks D-zone corners will be vast wastelands of empty space since no opposing forwards will go near them. Hutton - Pouliot -Both are hungry to become full time difference makers in the NH-fucking-L. Edler - Tanev -Both have too many years behind them, too many injuries. Give them each 10 minutes a night tops.

GOALIES Bachmann -He's put in so much time in the minors, he's ready to break out with a 0.975 save percentage. Vezina winner. DiPietro -Did he join Team Canada at the World Championships for nothing? No, he's just that good.
