My 11yo is way too extra and needs constant stimulation/attention

Right, perhaps coddling has a negative connotation applied to it. I get where you're coming from but no. Whenever he wants affection or attention, we do not view it as codding or him wanting entertainment. He gets plenty of our undivided affection and attention almost always and no one really views it any way. The distinction here is that he does indeed expect us to entertain him and wants to be treated a certain way. He does not like to be alone ever, and we feel it's healthy for people to be alone or to do their own thing at least sometimes. For instance, he doesn't want to shower on his own anymore and wants to be bathed. He does have issues with independence despite us trying to gently push him in that direction just a little. He has to be told to do everything and doesn't pick anything up over time and doesn't feel any sense of accomplishment or desire to do much of anything unless we do it for him.

I think you're correct about him being an extrovert even though his interests made us think he was more introverted at first.

Indeed, he does like social games and we do play games with him often along with my Nephew as well. We all have a great time and it is iindeed an amazing outlet. We were avid gamers ourselves so we know all about those rules and dynamics, however, as you've put it, he does still find excuses and reasons to play. He will hit that next checkpoint or finish that match and then sneak into another one, hence the more strict cut off time so with hope an alarm clock nearby will create more of an awareness of when that cut off time is looming so he can apply some time management skills to finish up in advance.

Yeah, he does miss social interactions with others. He gets a bit of that in school but it's not as it was of course. We are moving in March to a different city so it will be a big adjustment period but it will be a much safer environment so we're hoping it helps as right now he is far too cooped in as we just don't trust the area and there's nowhere for him to really play and be a kid.
