This is my 1987 dodge dakota. It has the V6 3.9l with an automatic transmission (i know gay). I got it in February. When i got it the guy had no clue what all was wrong with it he received it as payment of a debt from a friend. So far I've found a few issues but they've been easy fixes.

Don't worry about the engine size.

I came from riding motorcycles for a decade, and let me tell you any notion of speed in a truck (especially in today's world) is ridiculous.

The V8 of my year made an extra 50 HP. Like V6 =175 hp up to 225hp V8.

Both are laughable as far as speed are concerned in the larger scheme of things... especially against my old sportbike that did 0-60 in 3 seconds or against a new 750hp sport-car today.

Basically, what I'm saying is, love what you got for what it is. Don't let the "Mo Powa" V8 guys let you feel less-than. Even their mediocre gain in power is laughable in the larger scheme of things.

If it helps - just take off the V6 badging (as I did) so people can't judge.
