I have had people be physically aggressive with me because of the way I talk, I’m not wealthy now but I do ok, and when this happened I was very poor. I was raised in a middle class family and was well educated, not private school or anything, but my parents made sure we were well read and well travelled. So a lot of people assumed they just gave us everything. Wrong. Once we left school we got nothing. Had to work up on our own. They didn’t put in any words for us with friends in high places or buy us cars or houses or give us any money at all. But because of how I spoke, (clearly and correctly), people just assumed I was wealthy and a snob.
