My 2018 “3 Touring” met one of the neighbors while I was asleep... :(

Cars get dings and scratches. It’s normal. It happens. It’s the real world. You can spend money fixing them or not.

My theory is that for many people on this sub their new Mazda is their first new car. That’s not surprising as Mazdas are inexpensive economy cars with cheap paint and thin metal. But your first wear and tear damage on your first new car hurts a lot worse than your third or tenth scratch on your 12th new car.

People post about dings and scratches on here like they are always intentionally inflicted damage. I can’t even tell you what caused most of the blemishes on my car. But if you’re honest with yoursel, you caused many of them yourself. And people make mistakes and have accidents. It’s very rare that someone intentionally vandalizes your car.
