My [25/F] Dad's [47/M] dogs scratched my hardwood floors.

I hate that I'm having to defend myself constantly on this post because I don't want to be rude to those giving me honest advice. However, I will say, my fiance and I saved a LARGE sum of money (over $10,000) to remodel our floors so, when we found out (the next day the dogs left, not a week later) that they were completely ruined, we were both devastated. For 9 extremely long and exhausting months, we both worked two jobs and a lot overtime to save up the money to make our first home a dream home for us. I don't want to get all riled up over this comment and this thread, but I will stand my ground that if my dogs were to ever damage anyone's property, even if it is my parents, my sisters, any friends, I would feel absolutely terrible and more than happy to offer to pay for the damages. Especially, if I knew how much time and money went into their home.

I truly appreciate all of your comments and will take all of your advice into consideration as I speak with my dad more about this.
