Its not once a month, its several times a month resulting in him being away 8-10 days minimum/ month. Last month he was away for 2 weeks plus 3 weekends in a row after that.

Not sure where you're getting clingy from. I only see brian after work at night. I cook dinner, he plays video games, we eat and maybe watch a little something together thats it. We dont have a single day a month together. He uses all of his free days on his dog including public holidays.

On my days off, he works late at work to make up for the fact that hes taken so much leave. I'm sorry but wanting a day on your anniversary with your bf doesnt make one clingy after 5 years, your think your partner would deserve that but guess not. We women are soo darn clingy yeeshh
