This is my absolute favourite shot in Jackson's entire LOTR trilogy :)

Galadriel and Frodo in Lothlorien, before the Mirror, is one of my favorite scenes.

It's a very powerful scene in that no words are spoken (initially) yet the two of them are drawn together before the mirror, one on either side with Frodo looking warily at Galadriel, who represents a challenge that he must undertake, knowing that he will see and know things that he doesn't want to face. What's striking about the scene is the obvious differences between Galadriel and Frodo, but you get a sense that she's sort of treating him like a little brother, and Frodo has no deference or sense of status between the two of them...because they're both Ring bearers.

It's a tense scene, heightened by Galadriel pouring water into the mirror without once taking her eyes off Frodo, and by their body language and dialogue ("What will I see?"). She knows he has the Ring, and taking possession of it would solve all of her peoples' problems but at great cost to herself, and yet she is tempted in spite of herself. When Frodo willingly offers it to her, he has probably never come so close to dooming all of Middle-Earth than at that every moment when Galadriel nearly gives in to her temptation and after she passes the test, she is left without her regal bearing for once, looking frightened and shocked.

Absolutely fantastic scene from start to end.
