My almost 16 year doesn't think she needs permission to leave the house.

I’m heading towards this situation also with my son and it is good to have them start making their own choices on how to spend their time before they are on their own. We are still here to help guid them into making the good and productive habits they can take with them as an adult.

My only suggestion is pick a time (we usually do during dinner) asking them what where their plans are for tomorrow? What they where wanting to do with their day and letting them know if their is anything that you need from them specifically like be home certain time, make sure chores are done, pick up a sibling from somewhere. Etc. Start coordinating you schedules.

This might help with their confidence in their decisions and the independence that teens are really needing. Good luck!
