My around the world 123 day ADVENTURE! Read the text.

Hi! I and my friends traveled the world for 123 days last year. Visited 11 countries, drove 12 000km, and traveled a total of 80 000km!

We started in Norway, our home country, flew over to New York. Rented a car in New York, and started our 30 day long road trip to San Francisco. In short, we drove from NY to New Orleans, over to Albuquerque, up to Yellowstone Natinal Park, down to Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, west towards LA, then up to San Francisco.

From San Francisco, we flew to San José, Costa Rica. Spent two weeks in Costa Rica, surfing and taning. After Costa Rica we went to the Bahamas for about a week, rented a large villa close to Nassau.

From Bahamas we went to the Fiji islands for one week, did some island hopping, which was very fun. We even celebrated the Fiji national day at the islands.

After Fiji we went to Australia for about two weeks, had some wonderful days in Sydney. We also had some days at the blue mountains, near Katoomba. From there we went to Newcastle, Byron Bay, Surfers Paradise and Brisbane. We spent most of our nights at YHA hostels, which was VERY nice.

Next on our list was Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. We stayed for five or six days, and it was terrible humid. It was nothing special to see there, except the Petronas Towers and Batu Cave.

After Malaysia, we went to Hong Kong for a few days, then over to mainland China. This was the part we was most nervous about, before leaving Norway. We had read alot about China, how difficult it could be to communicate etc. We made it into Shenzhen, and Guangzhou some days later. From there we took a overnight train to Guilin, where the scenery was amazing. Karst mountains surrounding every corners of the city, what a view! Up next was Shanghai, had some relaxing days there at a nice hotel. Visited a large Chinese museum, and of course the famous "The Bund". After Shanghai we took another overnight train to Xi´an, and visited the Terracotta Warriors, and the famous and dangerous Mt. Hua Shan. To Climb this mountains is considered the most dangerous hike in the world. We finished up our 30 days in China in the capital, Beijing. Visited the great wall and the forbidden city, also the Olympic stadium.

Next up was Thailand, stayed a few days in Bangkok. We left Bangkok and took a bus to the national park Kao Yai. Rented scooters for 15 $ a day, and drove around.

After Thailand, we went to Kathmandu, Nepal. A very poor country, but tourist friendly. We stayed in a part of the city called Thamel, where your typical tourist stay. Spent some days here, then went to Nagarkot, to get a glimpse of Mount Everest, and a beautiful sunrise over the mountains.

India was the next stop, here we bumped into some problems. Accidentally got ourselves into a "scam-ring", where taxidrivers and fake tourist offices tried to bait us into expensive hotels and tours. We also ended up with food poisoning, all three of us. So we decided to trash our plans for India, and try to get home instead, since Christmas was close and everything.

We booked new tickets for flights to Dubai, and spent a few days in the hotel with our food poisoning, which was very bad at the time. Went to the Burj Khalifa at least. Then off to Norway!

I see i wrote very "thin" on the US part of the trip, if you want to know more, just ask! :)

I´ll gladly answer questions about the trip.
