Just to be clear, when my bf began dating me I was vegetarian for exactly that reason (unnecessary harm to animal), but I began to eat fish and other meats when I was diagnosed with a spinal disease, and fish in particular is esp. good to help my nerve issues (high omega 3's, zinc etc.). He'd probably know I'd cry if an animal was being tortured/treated poorly as I've always been sensitive to that and even would only eat pasture-raised eggs etc. Not to sound snobby but it was always a thing for me. I appreciated the gesture and even said I'd buy all the seafood and help with the killings (never killed a lobster before). I just was very upset he didn't stand up for me and his buddy made fun of me...
