Face facts your out of a job, focus on damage control and reach in the steaming pile of SHIT, you could pull out a diamond. Figuratively "Your in a burning ship and worried about the linings" You have a few options some can be fun others you redit wont let me say
1) Cut your loses and get out NOW, email your boss and tell him youll drop off any !!!!
2) Call your boss / company out to proper authority (Would need to know what field you work in or what your company dose to say who)
3) Go Dick Jones: Start digging around and get evidence, dont confront anyone about it. 3a) If its your boss, an owner, or a single person you can take it to a higher up an get a pat on the head an maybe a raise and some other perks. 3b) If i goes to the top your screwed, so see option 1,2,4,5 3C) Take waht you find to the cops proper authority
4) Call your boss out stealthy: Do this via a Email for the paper trail, casually say you noticed a transaction or what ever isn't in the system any more, Do not make a big deal of it. His reaction and action will determiner your next action.
5) Legal: This will require proof! of il legal activity (option 3.) If you have proof, 100%, undeniable. make 4 or 5 copys, give one to good fried to hold. Package 2 of them up with an explanation of what you found and whats going on. Have them labeled for the IRS and FBI local office. Give these to lawyer an tell him to hold them for a month, or as long as you tell him to hold them. If you don't come back for them he is to mail them. This may cost few $$ but its your insurance plan. Keep one copy for your self.
Now you need to wright up "letters of resignation" Letter) This will read as if it was written by a lawyer. Say that you have proof of il legal activity, you have made copy's of said proof, and have made arrangements that it WILL be distributed to proper authority and that you plan to contact the authority and assist in the investigation. list out some NOT ALL enough that they know you have ammo.
Now come stage 2 of option 5: If you know your boss dirty this is probably going to go letter 2 but 1 isn't impossible.
Walk in to your bosses office (if he has one) with him in it. Have your phone with you and have it set to record this conversation. Best if this is done stealthy, phone in a chest pocket is best. Now this will be uncomfortable but look your boss in the eye and say " I have become aware of illegal activity going on (describe ware and give the examples from letter 2. This way he knows your not blowing smoke.) I want no part or involvement in these action." You'll feel good after this trust me.
What you boss dose next will determine how this goes: Most likely he will scream, yell, fire you, insult you, and do anything to make you feel like your wrong and your going to be in some kind of trouble. You need to immediately tune him out and force the image of him standing there, Buck Naked, Shaving his BALLS!! (or something insanely embarrassing) Because He just castrated HIMSELF and proved he is involved in the illegal activity (and your recording it). Its unlikely but he could attack you, if this is possible and you cant defend yourself, make sure theirs a co-worker near by that can help.
If he takes it and says nothing and dose nothing, Present him with 2 copy's the letter of resignation 2. And say "Here is me letter of resignation, and my """intention""" to contact the proper authority. If he takes this situation and says "OK nice knowing you" Demand that he sign one copy and then leave, make sure to leave any company property with your now former boss. As you walk out make a copy and scan of the letter, Emai a copy of it to HR and call them and tell them or better yet go to HR's office and tell them and do an exit interview. This only makes you look better, You are now safe as gold in Fort Knox, blameless and scoot FREE!! update your resume and put "Illegal Activity" in the "reason box of any app." and move on with your life. Go to the cops if you can and want to, if you do. Now if you want to have some fun BCC as many of your co-workers in on the Email, now watch the rats flee the sinking ship.
