I don’t really think he was insulting your friends. He was more saying, “I like you for being different and not really generic, your interests are different than the others and that’s what I like about you” If he had directly insulted them as people or their looks or something, then yeah I’d be upset too. But I genuinely think he was just trying to express that you’re different.
