So you feel embarrassed because of something else someone did? Why hate them? Do they appear to be hurting anyone to you? And to claim that they are hurting you is ridiculous. You're observing someone's unfair judgement, and instead of blaming the person judging, you blame the ones that are being judged.

Regarding the situation with your parents, it really sucks. I'm pretty certain you aren't in a situation where you can leave and it seems like your parents are pretty closed-minded about the situation.

About what some people said about hiding your internet activity and that making you untrustworthy, I completely and utterly disagree. Privacy is a right everyone deserves and the idea that someone is monitoring your activity (which I don't think is the case, I think there is more information to this that we are missing.) is pretty disgusting.

It disturbs me that someone could be put in a situation like this and not be able to to do anything about it. I feel lucky that I am in a position where if I feel like something is wrong I can go somewhere else. I really do feel sorry for you.

My advice to you?

I would explain to my parents that I think they are being closed minded assholes, but then again, I am kind of an asshole myself and you most likely should not do that at all. Try to tell them that there is nothing wrong with what you are doing, provide evidence for your claim, and counterclaims to your parent's claims. Explain to them how there is nothing wrong with watching the show, provide evidence or your claims will be empty and that's just as good as only half of a rattlesnake. If you execute this correctly and it still fails, you might just have to accept that some people will be forever closed-minded, unable to listen to opposing ideas or opinions only because they disagree with their own beliefs and are too scared to try and think about it in a different way.

I hope your situation gets better. Try and keep an open mind. Whenever I deal with someone who is closed minded nowadays, it doesn't affect me. The idea that someone like that controlling my life and attempting to patrol what I like and dislike is scary as shit.
