Why is my car insurance rate so high?

State Farm is probably one of the most expensive out there. You might try Progressive.

Insurance is very discriminatory against young men. Very sexist and ageist. They can claim statistics this and statistics that but you can make a statistic say anything you want it to. It's just a way to price gouge. It's disgusting that it's legal.

$250 a month seems really, really high for liability. I have two drivers on one vehicle with full coverage and low deductibles and pay $400 every 6 months. Even when I was 18 my insurance wasn't that high. There must be some variable about where you live, or maybe you're driving a Ferrari or something?

I'd definitely call around for quotes. $250 a month is DUI-level rates.
