My career was going great until I got engaged…

Americans have boundary issues. I've never had an issue with vacations, I always take them.

If a job didn't like it, I would get another job. The problem is it's hard to get over the hump once you're behind on debt, etc. Also the changing labor force from manufacturing to retail has been a huge negative to wages. So most low wage jobs have people struggling, so the fear of not making enough money is real but financially there are a lot of poor choices made too.

Ideally the government would protect the people, but the people are so fucking ignorant they buy the "you're lucky to have a job" mentality and treat themselves this way in addition to voting against their own best interests.

It's sad to see, but I don't think Americans will ever overcome their heritage (our history clearly shows how shitty Americans have been to one another).
