I teach elementary, have taught a few different grades. Middle school is prime mean girl time unfortunately. I’m so sorry your dealing with this!

Keep following up with the teacher, build a relationship and keep them in the loop. Ask what’s been done and the next steps.

Most teachers report this stuff but don’t want to ruffle admin’s feathers because their job is on the line. They know they’ll get reprimanded, some even docked on their evaluation and pay. Offer your support, let them know you’re a team and have each other’s back!
