My co-worker made judgmental comments about my appearance, and I'm feeling resentful towards him.

I’m on the app so I can’t copy alas, but your second sentence is so true.

As for my own take, I am not going to tell you that you’re sensitive or not, or that he was wrong…what I’m going to say is that you need people like that in life - people that are going to give you that 4-th wall awareness that you might need to improve in certain aspects of your life.

Your youthful appearance might end up being a hindrance in the workplace at one point, and you’ll probably then seek advice from people in real life or even on Reddit (being professionally stuck but not knowing what’s the hold up)…and instead of pointing this out as a possible issue, people will be too busy dancing around the truth (because they’re actually more worried with feeling like the good guy) than pointing it out and HELPING you in the process. Then you’ll be so glad assholes like that are willing to just say fuck it and give it to you straight

Just my 2 cents. In the meantime, give yourself a timer: 10 mins max daily to dwell on this resentment then move on. Unless you plan on quitting this company or not working with the guy in the future, the people fueling your feelings in this thread are not actually helping you
