Here's my creepy online dating experience, what's yours?

Source: Done a lot of online dating and am very good at finding people online.

So I usually do online dating, because I don't want to meet friend's friends, people at bars, or people at work. For this reason I love it. One thing I have noticed is that women will put a lot of information about themselves in their profile that you think would not give away too much, but I can tell you that there is so much information you need to avoid mentioning when you do online dating. Also I am very good at finding people, because I volunteered for the police department, and using social media and other public information makes it super easy to find most everyone. I can find your address just from the information online. I can find where you work and when you work because people give away too much information. Also this dose not require any computer hacking. So the stuff to never include:

  1. Your area code or zip code. People have profile names that have zip codes or area codes in them, which narrows you down to about a ten mile radius.

2a. Never wear your work uniform in any of your pictures. Unless it is Starbucks, it is super easy to find that person.

2b. Never post a picture that has your name tag.

2c. Never post a picture that shows you outside of your place of work.

  1. Never have extremely specific stuff about your job in your profile. I recently started online dating a girl who described a lot about her job, and with the description I could have easily located her office. I didn't, because that's just creepy.

  2. Never post a picture of yourself outside of where you live. That makes it SO easy to find someone. If they are really smart, they can locate you within 100 yards based on where the sun is in the sky and the angle at which the camera is pointed at the house. Most likely they would just see the address on your house or the name of the apartment complex you live in.

  3. Do no list specific places you frequent. This can clue them in on where and when to find you.

  4. DO NOT put any of your names or parts of your name anywhere in your profile or your profile.

  5. Don't take a picture with your car. While a license plate is hard to do stuff with, you can find some information if you know what you're doing. That takes another level of dedication to creepiness though.

7b. If you do meet someone, meet them somewhere public, and end it before everything closes.

This is all stuff to be considered when anyone makes an online profile.
