My dad in the US Army in the mid-late 80's

My dad is Puerto Rican so I felt the need to post a shameless plug (I'm so sorry) for relief funds in PR:

United For Puerto Rico was launched by the First lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló and private corporations to fund relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria.

Unidos is a fund supported by New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio and U.S. Congress Members Nydia Velázquez and Adriano Espaillat, and New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and managed by the Hispanic Federation, which is a leading latino non- profit.

Concilio is also accepting donations for relief efforts in Puerto Rico.

A Global Giving fund will provide short and long term aid to those affected in Puerto Rico

All Hands Volunteers are accepting donations to support their on the ground relief efforts.

Puerto Rico was already suffering from serious financial problems before Irma and Maria hit the island. Right now it's basically a third world country. There's no electricity, very little communication and no water. No one is under obligation to donate any money and shouldn't feel bad if they can't give anything, but I just figured I'd put it out there.

My father isn't the only Puerto Rican to have served in the US military and won't be the last. Despite being a different country, they are a US territory. They are our people.
