I mean, it's a goddamn box that people are going to see for a few hours over two days at most. Then it's getting buried in the ground.

The funeral industry is predatory and damn ripoff.

My grandfather is 87. Thankfully he is still very healthy, but obviously his time is getting limited. Whether it be a couple years of a decade, the clock is unfortunately ticking down.

You know what he loves doing? Carpentry projects. Especially with his grandsons, my brother and myself, because he had daughters.

If he was told he had a couple months to live, but was still healthy, he'd probably go to Home Depot that same day and pick up some wood, then ask my brother and I if we'd like to build the coffin with him.

And you know what? That would be fucking awesome.
