My daughter is turning into one of those "I'm totally not a typical girl" girls and I don't know how to fix it.

I largely grew up without a mother and so did play the role of tomboy for a number of years. I didn’t start wearing makeup or wearing dresses until I was in college. These days, I won’t leave home without makeup on and relish occasions where I can don a feminine outfit.

I was determined that my daughter wouldn’t experience a huge feminine deficit like I did and so had her in dresses quite often as a baby/toddler/small child. She’s 10 now and while pink is still one of her favorite colors and she relishes My Little Pony, she’s also not afraid to indulge in more “boyish pursuits” such has Minecraft, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Super Mario. She’s always displayed a pretty healthy balance when it comes to her interests.

I’m not sure what more advice I can give that others haven’t already stated, but if I’m any kind of living proof (and I still personally don’t much care for pink), there may still be hope for your daughter yet. I mean she’s only eight. The more you try to suppress some of her current interests, the more she’s most probably going to resist. Human nature and what not.
