My dog went blind last year and I just want him to die now.

I've never felt that way, I have had seven Yorkshire Terriers at one time one jumped on off a table and broke his lower back paralyzingly him -- I took him to a veterinary hospital at the UNC Chapel Hill they gave him dilaudid while there and CRT'd him, MRI'd him, they messed with hat guy for three hours. Any numbers of different types of vets specializing in small pets, neurology, animal physiatrist, internists radiogaphers and radiologists PhD and residents. They gave him about three or four hundred dollars in meds to go with, showed me how to care for him and off we went -- he appeared infinietely better. They charged me less than $200, can't recall how much less. They kept in contact. He was such a great dog, he was a treatemnt to life and life most abundant. I learned so much from that guy, I recall him every Valentines Day (he passed aware after throwing himself on my foot at 2 AM). I get it you are tired of your dog. He is old and you are otherwise busy. Maybe you shouldn't have a dog. It is a lot of interaction and just like raising a child, have one. If you are this worn out and he is suffering, it may have been better to have out him down w/ pentobarbital -- I am glad I never did it though. Honestly, it never crossed my mind. I carried him when he couldn't walk and he got better -- he'd drag himself everywhere. Up and down steps even, he'd ride n a handbag and he was just a joy. I don't think your dog was as bad as you say or you'd never have been such a great owner. You are worn out. Talk to hm, see what he wants. If he wants to stay let him, just get him on tile, or PVC. Don't exclude him from your life, he is old and sick; your kids -- hell your wife will see your commitment, she has. You do what is best for him, your family is not in eminent danger of a crippled blind dog without teeth. If he is in pain and just miserable -- he'll let you know. Don't withhold treatment. And, don't take him to that vet who is milking you for too much money, even if it is a family member -- there is something very messed up about your vet. You gotta admitt, go to a veterinary university small pets clinic they can do miracles cheap. I can tell you, I might bite a child if in pain and asleep one came up to poke me at my age.
