I’m trying to think of every scenario in my head, yes. And I explained it to him that way as well. I even thought..if I go into labor at 10pm, he’d have to find somewhere to take the kids and hopefully his friend isn’t drunk by then and can take the kids and my husband will be at the hospital with me.

People aren’t allowed in labor and delivery at those hours (siblings). And next morning even if my mother in law was to arrive by then, I wouldn’t want anyone else in the room with me besides my SO so he would have to split his time leaving and coming. And if I go into labor in the morning then he’d really have to stay with me and then of course I’d probably stay there overnight and then what? When is he even going to see his other kids? That doesn’t even sound fun for the kids.

At that point I’d feel obliged to have visitors over which is something we both didn’t want as well while I’m at the hospital.
