I would be incredibly angry and upset. It bothers me so much that other people feel they can tell others about something so deeply painful and private. I’m sorry you have to deal with that.

It does seem like people treat you differently when they know; either they’re uncomfortable around you and make shitty comments or give advice where none is needed or act like you’re a child and they have to tip-toe around you.

I had to tell my professor about my PTSD because it’s really affecting my work and performance, and even though he doesn’t know the cause/trauma specifically I just feel embarrassed and exposed by it. I can’t imagine everyone knowing. I understand why you at least wanted the correct story told, but he shouldn’t have put you in that situation.
