First off, I am so sorry this happened to you.

Secondly, something kind of similar happened to me and I literally got the same exact response from “friends”. I was friends with benefits with this guy and we got drunk at his place one night when he had a few people over. We were all hanging out in his room and I got drunker than everyone else and he laid me in his bed. I was barely conscious when he decided to crawl in the bed with me and fuck me. Multiple people I considered friends were in the room and witnesses to my rape and said and did nothing to stop it. The next day I woke up and got the fuck out of there with only a vague memory of what happened. My “friend” came to pick me up and when I told her what happened the night before her only response was “How can he rape you? You’ve had sex with him before.” This is such a dangerous mindset. Past consent does NOT equal future consent!

It doesn’t matter that he was your boyfriend or that you’ve had sex before. What happened to you was not okay and anyone who says otherwise is no friend to you.

Please reach out for help. Report him. I also recommend talking to a therapist. Talking to someone who doesn’t know you and can simply help you processes what happened can make a big difference. When you’re ready, that is.
