My fiancé [28M] is ending things unless I [29F] convert to his diet. I don't know what I'm doing.

That's another large part of it; I just don't think eating his way is honestly that healthy.

Like I said in the OP, my cousin is diabetic. She's told by her doctor to try not to go over 30g of carbs per meal. She can eat more in one meal than my fiancé can eat in an entire day, and that's advice from an actual doctor!

I don't think the keto diet is gonna kill anybody, and I absolutely believe it's good for diabetics who are trying to go off meds (with the supervision of a doctor.) But my fiancé is not diabetic. He has no medical need to eat low carb. I'll will totally agree we shouldn't be pigging out on pasta and French bread every meal, but come on....this just isn't necessary. And I feel like 20 years from now we're gonna look back on this like we now look at the low-fat craze.

I'm not a doctor, I'm not a nutritionist. I am totally talking out of my ass. But I've got a long line of family members who have lived to 85+ and they sure as hell ate more than 20g of carbs a day, and ate meat at almost every meal. I think I'm fine.
