Ha-ha, I got diagnosed with this and took it very hard. The demeaning things openly written about it were highly disturbing & how quickly one can get diagnosed schizophrenic is unbelievable. I also had a bipolar diagnosis. I went to a new psychiatrist and told him about all the things I've read and various forums that I'v visited. Well, I said schizotypal people are actually quite brilliant & very kind and helpful towards each other and the bipolar people on Reddit are morons & not very friendly (and that's actually a bit true) I said, they feel like cousins to me (typals) but I don't think it's a fair diagnosis due to my history of friendships and relationships. He goes- in this office you are bipolar ONLY.

This picture does say it all, getting this diagnosis is extremely traumatizing. 50 times more so than a bipolar diagnosis.
