My first post: a question for everyone who played 1-4

It was not at all surprising tbh. Yogi was one of two people who could've killed Hammond, the other being Lotta, and even then I don't think that anyone at any point thought it WAS her. As for Manfred, it was cool first time around because "Oh wow he's really crazy, man is on some shit" but him being behind it all has been soured on repeat playthroughs following the realisation that his to frame Edgeworth for killing Hammond is fucking stupid and extraneous considering he was banking on Edgeworth turning himself in for killing Gregory anyway, and that this shouldn't've even been a thing anyway on account of the fact that Yogi was found not-guilty due to temporary insanity, meaning that the ruling was that he did it but they couldn't punish him because he wasn't in control of his actions. The case should not have been considered "unsolved" and Manfred should've dedicated his time and resources to actually putting together a case against Edgeworth rather than framing him for a murder that serves literally no purpose.

Tl;dr 1-4 is a sloppily-written mess and Manfred is a garbage villain.
