My friend is experiencing racism in her dorm. She’s white.

Who said one is okay but not the other?

I already stated that racism can be targeted at white people. Literally any race can experience racism. But racism isn't the same thing as oppression, and minority groups in this country have been oppressed since before it's founding and continue to be today. Black people have had equal rights for less than a third of our countries history, racism and oppression didn't just disappear after the civil rights movement, and social and cultural norms continue to promote a racist, anti minority, anti immigrant agenda to this day.

Instead of asking, "Why is one ok but not the other?" Just attempt to realize that what black people went through (And continue to go through) is nothing compared to the racism white people are experiencing now. It really does suck to experience injustice based on race, right? Haha yeah, now imagine the fear of being lynched just for being a black person. Imagine the fear of being stopped by a police officer while being black. Imagine being a minority in a country surrounded by people who don't seem to get that they're the sole cause of you're races misfortune in modern day America.

I want you to compare the centuries of racial injustice to the couple decades of black people insulting white people for being white.
