im saying that the sound of practicing and expanding one key, sounds more proficient to a listener either you or someone else, than if you are to spend less time on one scale and try to "cover more scales" during that session. when they are all the same.
what i said is: "when i shred modes on the guitar, in the same key, it drives people wild.."
and its just as technical if not more than trying to just cover keys for quick learning, which is what this person is after. they will get to more scales inevitably.
and on a broad understanding? no of course more is better.
your question (b) modes are patterns of the scale they belong to?
hello thats what modes are and yes me and every other teacher on the planet who knows modes teaches their students what modes are.
ill help you

have fun
the op told me they were playing guitar and piano and i didnt assume anything. nothing i said shows that i would have assumed they even played any instrument....
why do you think i assumed that? lololol
im all ears when it comes to modes. but you sound like you dont know what you are talking about.
it sound like you are hung up on a semantic difference that we have yet to discover. ill be up for a while if you want to reply and teach me what you think i need to know about modes.
trust me i know what modes are, how can you not? please im dying to know what you think i dont know. hahahaha
