For hard durable goods, I will buy once cry once. ill get the one that I feel is the best for me, usually it's not the most expensive version but it's often more money than my peers would spend. Why would I put anything else there, make them group buys.

One example I have is I have the same garbage bin for 10+ years. It's a quality one with a metal exterior, lid and soft close, i never had a problem with it. Sure it was 4 times more than the cheap bins but i've never had a problem with it and it still looks good. Most cheap garbage cans will last just as long but they look cheap and feel cheap. When possible on something you'll keep for a very long time, buy once cry once imo.
