My girlfriend broke my PS4 for a TikTok trend

You don't have to see value in gaming, or any activity your partner does. I even think the arguments for games you gave are silly, you usually don't lose memories or experience of stories after losing saved games. You just need to understand that it's important to your partner and so you don't destroy it even if you dislike it.

If someone close to me destroyed my favorite books I wouldn't be angry because of losing books. I would be angry because WTF, why do that, can I trust them, what other crazy things will they do?

Now, there may be people who value dearly their physical book copies. I don't have to value it too to not destroy their things.
