My glorious free upgraded rig! (Story in comments)

So the story of this rig is that it used to be an i5 4670k, Z87 MPower Max, 16GB of ram and a GTX 980 but a lot of bad and good things have happened since then.

A friend (whom I shall not name due to his request) gifted me a 5960X and 32GB of Kingston Predator 3000MHz DDR4 out of the kindness in his heart. Then comes the bad news..

I had to save for a good X99 motherboard because I didn't want to go in to such a high end platform with a low end motherboard and eh, i'd only be paying £270~ for a 5960x set up. I bought an X99S XPower (thinking it had OC socket but it did not) and it arrived with a bent pin and had problems from the start. I sent it off to get fixed and it arrived in a more working state but out of my own stupidity, a slight slip up with the 5960x and I bent 2-3 pins and this time even after bending the pins back myself it had 3 dead slots. The DDR4 at this time had also started dying for some peculiar reason. Tbh, i'll do a TL;DR as I had so much hardware break on me that the story would last forever.

TL;DR of what broke, X99S XPower (with no chance of an RMA), 3 sticks of DDR4 (got replaced by kingston <3), My 980 started artifacting to all hell (It could bench 1610MHz/2050MHz so this one really hurt) and guess what? The guy then gifted me a Titan X (this was before there was hard proof of 1080 and tbh, idc it's still a fucking fast card and i'm still more grateful than ever possible) and I went on to buy an X99 OC Formula from Amazon Warehouse for £160. So it was a hard lesson, but i've learned from it. I will be watercooling the Titan X with a full cover alphacool block soon and I can taste the finish of my computer that i've been so damn close to for nearly 3 years.

Thank you for reading, it's a long TL;DR and it's more rambling than anything :P
