My idea/opinion on why people have "gear fear"

"But when you go in with barely nothing, getting killed like that makes you say "sure, its tarkov" and you just move on."

I do the same with a full kit, Once you have plenty to spare it really isn't a big deal.

"Even when i literally give no shit about gear anymore, it still leaves a bitter taste when you lose a full kit like that."

Then you do still care about gear.

I understand completely why people don't want to lose their gear, if it's the small bit of good gear they have, perhaps they're new or just broke. maybe they wanna save it for a group run on labs or something like that.

Personally, If i have it, I'm using it to make more. If I die, it's whatever i'll get it again.

But I can understand someone with less not wanting to die with it on a map which won't give them good odds of paying for what was lost even on a successful run. like shoreline without good keys, etc.

In the end it's usually just a confidence issue, they don't feel confident enough in themselves to have a successful run with the gear so they leave it and risk less.
