Nothing really, I didn't know if I wanted to renew, I was very unsure. Due to being overworked and severely undstaffed, I was leaning towards not being in the medical field anymore. What changed my mind was that a patient's deteriorating condition was able to be corrected due to an observation I made. I advocated for said patient, and they have left the acute care hall and moved to the recovery hall in order to be discharged in the near future. Being bilingual and explaining to the patient and their family what is going on with treatment and plan of care, & seeing the hope in their eyes just made something click. I began to want to further my education as well as the renewal of my license. This was about a month before I was taken off the schedule.
