So, my kid sees dead people...

So I read this, put my daughter to bed, and came back to share my life experiences. They all sound fucking ridiculous and I personally wish they were because I try very hard to ignore it all and pretend nothing like this has happened to me.

Around the time I was 4 my mom's mom (Grandma Kay) lived with us and her mom (Grandma Crane) was slowly going down hill being seriously ill. She was know for two things. Being incredibly mean to everyone and collecting dolls.
At the time it was the early 90's and she had a large troll doll collection which my sister and I both loved and she would let us play with which shocked everyone. For some reason Grandma Crane had taken a shine to my sister and I and treated us better than everyone else in the family. Right before she got really sick she gave the two of us her entire doll collection. The day we got it we got in huge trouble with Grandma Kay and mom because we cut the hair off of a couple of troll dolls. We were told not to tell Grandma Crane and just tell her we enjoyed playing with them.
We never got that chance though because soon after my mom and grandma got called into the hospital in the middle of the night because Grandma Crane had been admitted and was going to die. My sister and I had no idea that we were home alone with my dad's sister sleeping on the couch during this but I vividly remember that night. I had woken up to someone shuffling around the room and when I opened my eyes I saw Grandma Crane looking at the troll dolls. She was touching one with cut hair and I apologized and then she basically told me they were toys and meant to be played with and it was ok. She came over and sat on my bed and we talked and I remember thinking about how pretty she looked. My curtains were open and their was a big bright moon letting a bunch of light in and she had almost this black and white look to her except with blues instead of blacks and you could kind of see through her hair and fingers. After that I remember she told me she loved us all and I needed to go to bed and I told her I loved her and would see her soon. She ended up telling me I wouldn't and that she had died and she wouldn't be back but to let everyone know it went ok. I was confused but laid down and tried to fall asleep.
A couple of minutes later my mom and Grandma Kay came home and they came into my bedroom and told my sister and I that Grandma Crane had died. I told them that I already knew because I had talked to her and she said she loved everyone and that everything went ok. Well Grandma Kay ran out crying and my mom just told me to never talk about seeing her again and left. It wasn't until years later I found out that at the hospital Grandma Crane kept talking about the creatures on the ceiling circling her bed and screaming, "Don't let them take me!" Up until the very moment she died. Everyone was shaken up and kind of convinced she was going to hell.

After that event I guess any experiences died until I was in 4th grade. My dad had remarried and we moved into her house. That house was odd because we'd hear knocking, footsteps, murmured voices, stuff would got missing, things would break and suddenly work again as soon as you replaced it, and we had horrible plumbing problems that just weren't logical.
At the time my sister and I shared a room and I slept on the top bunk of our bed about 2 feet from the ceiling where I'd be kept awake by the walking sounds. It got to the point where everyone had heard it day or night and my dad had to cut an opening for the attic to get up there and see if anything was up there (of course, nothing there).
During that we had our basement flood 3 times in 6 months. Once was due to the creek behind the house flooding and the other two were caused by trees growing into our pipes. You'd think that were totally normal things that could happen except when it flooded we actually had the city's sewage come up through our pipes backwards and start spraying out of our shower, shooting out of faucets, and back up in the sinks and toilets. It even ended up in our washing machine and dishwasher. It was just something nobody had ever heard of happening before.
When I was in 7th grade my dad just randomly told us we were moving and they had found a new house. None of us even knew they were looking. His mom, Grandma Pat, later told me he had seen something that had scared him so badly we had to move. My dad was a cop who doesn't believe in ghosts. It had to of been bad and it's my sneaking suspicion that I know what it was. As it turns out that during high school my dad witnessed a guy come into his classroom and shoot and kill the guy sitting next to him. The guy who died used to live in that house.

After that my dad's "new" house. It is hands down the worse place in the world and I will never be there after dark ever again. The entire time we lived there I was constantly harassed by a large black cloud thing. It doesn't seem too scary until it's put into context though. An example would be that I would regularly see it floating down the hallway. Now my dad's house has 4 bedrooms and all are off of this long straight hallway. Mine was the second to last and even night I'd see this black cloud work it's way down the hall, always from my dad's room and at first it'd just go past towards my step brothers room. Eventually though it'd pause in front or mine and then it'd flatten out and drop to the floor, move across the room to my bed, and then slide up the side and sit on top of me. During the entire thing I could move my body but it was incredibly scary. I ended up always having to sleep with my door closed.
My senior year I had moved in with my mom but took the opportunity to house sit for my dad for a week and my first day getting there after school I found every window in the house open with a foot of snow on the ground. I freaked out and told my dad who brushed it off as a friend who goes there to tan maybe left a couple of windows open. My step mom later told me that they always find windows open even if they've been locked and no one has been over. That evening I was on the computer in the sun room at about 1am and was talking to friend on yahoo messenger when I realized out of the corner of my eye I could see the black cloud sitting in the doorway that connects the sun room to the long hallway. Even both dogs were staring at it.

Then on to the place my husband and I first moved into together straight of high school. Never had any issues until a couple of years in when I went to let our dog out and through the glass window on the door I actually saw a guy in an early 1900s suit standing in my laundry room (which is weird because the house was built in the 50s). I remember thinking he looked like my dad and I kind of wondered if he was related and I actually heard a man say no out loud. Never had anything else happen there.

Last but not least is my current house. We have a woman dressed in early 1900s clothing that 3 people have seen. All three had seen her walking around my kitchen cooking. I also saw her on two separate occasions. Once I was coming up our basement stairs and as I got to the top I watched her come up behind me. I got a good enough view to know she was wearing blue and had dark brown hair.
The second time I saw her was kind of the freakiest. I woken up in the middle of the night for no reason and saw her leaning over my daughters crib. I sat straight up, watched her turn to look at me, and slowly just fade out. A few days later I was in walmart and a woman came up to me and said, "She likes the baby". I asked her what and she said, "The woman, in your house, she likes the baby" and then this woman just walks off. It freaked me out.

Sadly that wasn't the only stranger to approach me discussing ghosts though. I wasn't sure how to work it in but here it is, during the time I lived in my first place with my husband I worked for his mom who owns an antique store. On multiple occasions things would go missing/show up in weird places and during a few weeks we kept having random knocking in part of the building when employees were alone and they were getting scared. One day my MIL, an antique vendor, and my self heard the infamous knocking and all sprung into action. MIL ran out the front door to get to that exterior wall, vendor ran out the back to get there too, and I ran to that wall inside the building. I ended up recording the knocking while they heard it from outside and I heard it inside. I then caught something on the video we were expecting. You could see the drawer on all cabinet slowly slide out. After showing both of them we were all pretty freaked out but fibbed and told employees it was someone playing a prank outside.
About a month later my MIL and I are at a huge outdoor craft fair selling antiques and I'm in a big s line to use the bathroom and the woman on the other side of the rope glances at me for a second, turns around, and then turns back to me and says, "Can I tell you something really weird?" I said nothing she can say would be weird and to go for it and she asks, "Are you having problems at work with noises and stuff going missing?" I just stared at her a minute and slowly said yes and she told me a woman was really attached to a couple of black end tables in there and that we need to get rid of them and then described where they were. Once we got to the store we found the tables in that exact spot, ironically it was the same vendors items, and she ended up taking them home and burning them and we never had issues again.
I should also note the woman from the festival told me she knew I wouldn't be scared to talk to her because I see ghosts occasionally. She apparently knew because when someone is sensitive she always sees purple glasses. That day I was wearing contacts but I'm know for always having purple, plastic glasses.

TL;DR I'm haunted and this turned into a novel.
