Everyone wants a ten on attractiveness, but if you're 6 and he's a 9 what do you have to offer him that a 7or 8 doesn't? Personality? Unless you're an absolute monster guys dont care that much about personality till like a month or two into the relationship. If they say they do early on its not true, It's just new. You have a good career? Awesome, good for you independent woman, but guys dont care about that stuff, they make their own money. A 9 that makes his own  money and is higher on the attractiveness scale then you are with more attractive prospects available to him? Think about that for a sec... Better a princess then a disposable object that can be used and tossed aside.
