If she has lived 26 years in the world and doesn’t get that some people need to make money to live, she needs to really get her life in order. Especially if her partner is telling her this. I’m sure she has other great qualities, but this is a definite dealbreaker.

(And I say this as someone who grew up comfortably upper middle class and dated someone who grew up poor in my 20’s. It can absolutely be a learning curve on both sides, and looking back I’m positive I said and did some cringy stuff that my partner overlooked or kept quiet about, but I also tried really hard to incorporate his perspective and understand where he was coming from. We eventually split for other reasons, but we both worked hard in that area to make sure that the other felt ok.)
