What you should do is put the donut on and then use your smartphone to find the nearest Autozone, Wal-Mart, or gas station and use one of their jacks if you can't find a place selling tires open right then.

Scissor jacks are dangerous as hell, I wouldn't swap tires around on them unless it was my last option, and I certainly wouldn't do it on the side of any road because the surface is too uneven. You want to do it in an even parking lot somewhere if you can't find a real mechanics jack.

1. Get a new tire
2. Get a mechanics jack
3. Find a parking lot to swap out your tire so you aren't steering with the donut.

But if your front blows out, put the donut on that and drive slowly and carefully until you can go down that list. Put your hazards on.
