My med school classmate drinks 10+ drinks/day, snorts Adderall, and now is getting medical issues

The way that OP wrote thos post implies a lot of things… yet he explicitly mentions that his friends doesn’t drink before work and that he’s never been intoxicated while at work. Also the comments about Adderall and Cannabis seem… off, as if he’s trying to paint his buddy as a poly drug abuser when he might as well take prescribed adderall to reduce his excessive daytime sleepiness and smoke the occasional joint at parties.

And don’t get me started on that symptom list… Nasal congestion, seriously? What’s next, a detailed analysis of his friend’s bathroom schedule?

The entire post by OP seems to be geared towards making his buddy look in the worst way possible, so that he can pat himself on the back when he inevitably destroys his friend’s career even though his friend has never been impaired at work. If his friend wants to destroy his liver with alcohol then that’s his right. OP needs to accept that he’s not his friend’s board-certified doctor and accept that his friend is an adult who will make his own health choices that may well be different to what OP would want for him.
