I was on a cocktail of meds, including multiple steroids, for almost 10 years due to asthma. It was easier for my Nmom to take me to the ER monthly (at the very least) because I stopped breathing and passed out than it was for her to not smoke indoors. I gained a shitton of weight during this time, and went from underweight to morbidly obese. She stopped giving me the medications when she didn't like how my face looked from them and people stopped complimenting me to her.

So you're not entirely alone, and it does get better ever so slowly. But I hope you get everything that you're looking for out of these surgeries. Best of luck and congratulations.
