These behaviours are absolutely mental and your mother should totally seek for professional help.

Unfortunately I had some disturbing experiences with my mother too. She has been diagnosed with nervous narcissism so I don't have any doubt that what she did and said was connected to her mental illness.

She was really pushy about me having my period, I think it happened when I was 13 or 14 which to her it was too late apparently.. I was so fed up with her putting so much pressure on me that when I had my period for the first time I didn't tell anyone even her..

I had medical issues with my spine so I had to tell my doctor when and if I had my period because it influence the growth and formations of your bones.

When I confirmed it to him in front of her she went absolute nuts, she was so angry and lied to me saying that my father was deeply concerned because I wasn't having my period, saying he had an history of illnesses in his family connected to menstruation and then basically forced me to go up to him "confessing" I finally had them.. Turns out my dad was totally chilled about it and was pretty unbothered.

It doesn't seems like a big deal but the pressure I had from her made me feel so bad about myself, like I wasn't normal and knocked down my self esteem, already low at the time for all the psychological abuse I received from her.

To this day I feel topics like the first period really disturb me deeply and makes me feel weird and disgusted.
