My mother admitted today that she regrets having my sibling

Even if the kid doesn't have a disability, they could still be relying on you for everything and to help the with the mistakes they make well into adulthood. Example: My best friend has two little brothers. One of them is now married, living in a different state to his parents, having a great life. The other barely graduated high school, has never held down a full-time job, got into drugs, then he got a girl pregnant. Now they're all living in his mother's basement. His mother helps them with everything financially because both of them have shitty jobs that don't pay enough to take care of them individually, much less a baby too. I bet his mom didn't think she'd still be living with one of her kids when he's in his late 20s.
