My roommate has 2 Frenchies. She works a lot and I'm at school/work on my most days so this results in the dogs being cooped up all day.

When its hot outside, they stay in this walkway that is fenced off. Since they can't go outside for 12 plus hours, they piss and shit in the house.

When it starts to cool down, she leaves the patio door open so the dogs could go outside as they please/need. First off, they don't go outside. The piss and shit everywhere, including on her sofas. Second... since the backyard is 95% cement (patio). When the dogs piss and shit on the cement, the odder and piss get absorbed into the cement. Resulting in this fucking HORRID, strongest smell of piss and shit you'll ever come across since she doesn't clean it properly. The house smells like it too if the door is left open.

Lastly, when it starts to cool off, she'll put the dogs in the fenced off area in the garage. Its small, enough for 2 small dog beds, a litter pan, and a water bowl. Since the fenced off area is a pain in the ass to get inside, she won't clean it. Right now the dogs took a shit 2 weeks ago and its still there. She did a half ass job cleaning it up, she just smeared it everywhere. For some fucking unknown reason, I came home the other day with a towel over the shit.

The house does smell if any of the doors are left open and if the dogs are left inside unattended. Usually, if I watch them I leave them outside for most of the day or pinned up with pad lining the floor.
