My Nexus 6P Caught on fire

Posting the story in comments because haven't heard from mods on this and Google is still making me wait.

I'm seriously getting to my wits end with Google. This happened Tuesday, still no action from Google after contacting them four times. Called today and the only answer I get after almost a week is "we're still waiting on it". Also including pictures as proof, link is below.

This past Tuesday, I woke up at 1:40 am to a very loud crackling noise coming from my desk. My roommate and I look towards my desk to see my Nexus 6P catch on fire and have a 2 ft cone of fire shoot out the top (from the fingerprint sensor). Thankfully we were able to get a fire extinguisher and nobody was hurt, but I'm currently in a college dorm right now and were lucky to have only had minimal damage to the desk as a result of this (included a picture of that in the album as well). The phone was charging when this happened, but I was using the charger that came with the phone.

I call Google Tuesday evening, and they immediately escalate the case to a supervisor. He tells me they will look into it, I'll be reimbursed even though the warranty is up (had it for over a year), etc. So I wait 24 hours for the email they were supposed to send... and no email. 48 hours... no email. I call Google again, get put on hold for 10 minutes until I have to hang up and try again. Immediately get someone on the line and they send me an email saying they're still looking into it after 2 days, and they'll send me an email as soon as something happens. It's now Sunday called again and still nothing from Google.

Maybe I'm the crazy one, but shouldn't Google have given me something at this point to work with? Unless they don't believe me, I see no reason they haven't contacted me at this point. I need a cellphone to communicate with people and just generally get around during college, and I'm stuck waiting for Google to make up their mind. Google's a great company, but I seriously doubt I will buy another Google phone after this, considering I will probably have to call them a fourth time only to be told "we're still working on it".

TL;DR my phone caught on fire and Google doesn't seem eager to help me at all.
