My pandemic spending

Privileged and fortunate enough to remain gainfully employed through all this.

Spending has been more or less the same, honestly.

The frivolous things I would have spent money on in 2019 have just rolled into different frivolous things.

I bought a rowing machine and jiu-jitsu mats so I can workout at home.

I bought another monitor for my home office and a fancy desk chair (since I sit at my desk for like 16 hours a day).

I'm at home a ton so I buy a lot of stuff to make my home more comfortable (sheets, pillows, bathroom stuff, so many god damn candles).

The winter was bad for Uber Eats, but I'm trying to actually walk around my area and just pick-up from local spots. My grocery bill has basically shifted into take-out. I love to barbeque but the BBQ amenities in my building are closed at the moment - when that opens up, this will probably change.

I have saved more because I'm forced to confront that I'm not going out on weekends, so I throw additional money into my investment account bi-weekly. 2019 to 2020 I actually did pretty well on that front.
