My parents [56M, 55F] are angry that I [29M] don't want to go to see my sister [27F] and her newborn baby.

There isn't anything wrong with a phone call or FaceTime for a baby that is very far away. Until baby is 3mo, it's not fully vaccinated and a lot of moms are nervous about a ton of new people touching it at once.

I think a FaceTime and a nice gift would be really appropriate and only take like an hour max of your time. Can you not give your sister that at this time in her life?

Maybe send her little memes her or there or a text now and then- and plan a visit before baby turns one.

A sister in your corner is a friend for life- you never know when these connections might mean the world to you.

You don't have to be best friends, but why not be kind and keep the door open? There is nothing to lose from that and everything to gain.
