Dude, I've spent the last 4 years learning how to create art(drawing and 3d) and became decent at it(#humblebrag), though I regret spending so much time on it(that's another story). You learn art by doing studies, copying and just grinding through it.

Your pixel art example is misplaced again. Yeah, there are workarounds if you lack the artistic skill, but that's not the point. You are very limited with the choice of games you can make.

When I learned programming I just read some simple c++ tutorial online(I didn't even know about OOP, or even classes in general), bought a book about DirectX 9 and I was able to create my own simple games after a few months. Back then I was just a 12 years old kid and I wasn't even a smart.

Nowadays it's way even easier with engines like Unity, that do the heavy lifting and with the sheer amount of tutorials and help online. Just take a look at all those unity games made by beginner game devs.
