Whether someone grew up in a happy home doesn't influence their stance on having children; my partner and I both grew up with loving parents and good relationships with our siblings and we both always knew we didn't want to have children.

The important thing is that if you know this about yourself, to bring it up early with potential partners; I was out there as a 14 year old asking if guys I like wanted kids. My success rate is 100% -- I'm 38 now and the three guys I've dated in my life are all childfree to this day. You just need to be up front, open, and sincere about your desire to never reproduce.
